Smell (Irrelevant to effects)
The Ambary Gardens Lip Repair comes in four different flavors—Lemon Ginger, Rosemary Mint, Pina Colada, and Unflavored. We tested the Lemon Ginger version, and as you might have guessed, it smells just like lemons and ginger. You definitely can’t smell any hint of hemp-based CBD extract, it’s thoroughly infused into this topical. The mild, yet pleasant aroma is rich with notes of citrus and flowers.
Taste (Irrelevant to effects)
The taste is pleasantly mild—not overwhelming like a stick of Cherry Chapstick. It tastes like coconut oil with a hint of underlying citrusy, lemony goodness—you may just find yourself licking your lips after applying it. Overall, I would say the Lemon Ginger flavor is more descriptive of the smell than the taste.
Consistency
The stick itself is soft and buttery. You’ll notice the stick has a gentle grain to it that begins to melt and soften into the skin as you apply it to your lips. The finished product is off-white in color.
Effects (Onset, Duration, Intensity)
The effects are very nourishing. We found that the Lip Repair effects can begin to be felt nearly instantly as your lips begin soaking it up. Our lips felt moisturized, healthy, and refreshed for hours after each application. It is worth noting that this Lip Repair does not produce an icy/hot sensation like Burts Bees or Carmex.
Best Used For
This product is best for chapped lips! In our experience, the Lip Repair was an easy choice to replace our old Chapstick. The CBD infused Lip Repair is great for protecting the lips and keeping them looking young and fresh. We found the Lip Repair from Ambary Gardens to be very soothing when applied to sunburned lips after a day at the beach or in the mountains. As males, we really enjoyed using this Lip Repair because it doesn’t make your lips look glossy like many other lip balm products.
