Smell (Irrelevant to effects)
The smell is indistinguishable from cannabis flower: rich and skunky, with notes of fruity sweetness and a slight hint of citrus. We loved the smell of this particular strain and the sweeter terpene profile it has.
Taste (Irrelevant to effects)
When smoked, the flower tastes just like its high-THC counterpart: the expected dank, earthy notes of cannabis are there, along with a citrusy flavor upon exhale. Think orange and lemon zest—a little sweetness with a zesty kick.
The buds are a good size, ranging from smaller pieces to flowers weighing as much as two grams. The flowers themselves are a rich green, with a fine coating of trichomes punctuated by fine, light-orange hairs. There’s a subtle stickiness to the flowers (which we really liked, as it burned slower than a drier flower), so if you’re not using a grinder you can expect to have sticky fingers by the time you’re done breaking it up. It burns evenly and slowly, so a bowl lasts for a while before it’s done, even in a water pipe.
Effects (Onset, Duration, Intensity)
When smoked or vaped, we felt the effects within minutes: a bowl of the Suver Haze from Canna Comforts helped us feel relaxed, eased anxiety and depression symptoms, and soothed chronic pain and headaches. We felt a general sense of well-being and noticed marked improvements in our mood. We just felt better—we got everything from smoking this hemp flower that we do from our daily dose of CBD extract, wrapped up in the experience of smoking flower, which a lot of our long-time cannabis smokers really enjoyed.
The effects lasted about 4 hours for most of us, give or take a little bit, and were notable for every member of our testing team, even those of us who tend to take higher doses. We felt the intensity of the effects build with each hit we took, and felt profoundly relaxed and at ease by the end of the bowl. We did not feel high in the least—which, we have to admit, felt a little weird at first. The hemp flower is so very similar to its cannabis cousin that we almost forgot we were smoking hemp, and that impressed us.
Best used for
While we wouldn’t recommend this product for people who cannot or do not enjoy smoking, we think that the hemp flower from Canna Comforts could benefit most anyone else: it smokes just like cannabis flower minus the high, which we like because it gave us the experience of smoking with CBD, allowing us to relieve our symptoms without getting stoned.
We noticed pronounced relief for chronic pain with this high-CBD strain, and its quick effectiveness makes it especially attractive for treating sudden symptoms like muscle spasms or anxiety. A few puffs off a bowl, or even a small joint, is enough to alleviate symptoms of anxiety, muscle tension, inflammation, and low mood.
