Description

Smell (Irrelevant to effects)

CBDistillery Hemp-Derived CBD Isolate Oil is odorless. That’s right; you smell virtually nothing when you open the bottle.

Taste (Irrelevant to effects)

Aside from having no smell, it also has very minimal taste. The CBD flavor, which is maybe even more of an “oil feeling” on the back of the tongue, is tough to describe. In fact, it may be the most “tasteless” taste we’ve ever tasted, making this the perfect CBD Oil for anyone with picky taste buds.

Consistency

CBDistillery’s CBD Oil is almost clear, with only the slightest touch of golden yellow. It’s also pretty thin, making it easy to accurately measure with the dropper lid. It doesn’t really leave any residue behind after you swallow and feels pretty smooth in your mouth, so it’s a win all the way around.

Effects (Onset, Duration, Intensity)

We tried two different strengths of CBDistillery’s Hemp-Derived Isolate Oil, the 17mg, and 33mg dosage. A 17mg dose first thing in the morning proved to be a great way to start our day, as it melted away muscle stiffness and soreness from our workout the night before. It took almost an hour to begin to feel any effects, but after about an hour and a half, the effects really kicked in, and this isolate oil removed residual discomfort as well as our usual dose.

However, we will note that it didn’t seem to have the same impact on anxiety as a 20mg full spectrum dose, and we needed to supplement with a full spectrum CBD vaporizer after a few hours to keep anxiety at bay.

Because the lack of THC is generally proposed as a benefit for those suffering from anxiety (which can actually be aggravated by THC in some cases), we decided to give it another go with the more potent version of this Isolate Oil. A 33mg, which we feared would make us sleepy, seemed to do the exact opposite. It still took nearly an hour and a half to feel any effects from this oil, but this time anxiety melted away with the joint pain as well. Plus, it offered a sense of mental clarity and was a precursor to a very productive, stress-free afternoon.

No supplementing was necessary, and the effects seemed to last longer than we expected around 8 hours. Though some tinkering may be necessary to find the best dosing routine for each user, we believe a stronger dose of this isolate is necessary than when using another high-quality, full-spectrum tincture.

Best Used For

Multiple sources claim that CBD isolate may be better for some ailments than Full Spectrum CBD, but these claims have yet to be proven or debunked by research. However, CBD isolate products do offer one prominent benefit for some users—they are a THC-free option for anyone worried about passing a drug test or anyone sensitive to THC. CBD isolates may be a great option for one of the many ailments that may respond to cannabidiol, like anxiety<, pain, arthritis, and many more.

Best Used With (Complimentary Product)

These CBD isolate products fared very well when used alone, and the only downside we see in these products is the lengthy wait for effects to kick in. In some cases (like for joint pain or inflammation), you may be able to effectively supplement this wait time with a topical CBD product, like CBDistillery’s CBDol Topical Salve. Many CBD topical products are full-spectrum, but no worries. A 2017 study shows that CBD cannot be found in the blood or urine after applying to the skin, even when large amounts were used.

Value/Price

As previously stated, we tried two versions of this THC-Free CBD oil. The 1000mg bottle (33mg per dose) costs $65, and the 500mg bottle (17mg per dose) costs $42, which rounds out to about $0.07 and $0.08 per milligram, respectively. This is pretty low on the average price scale, though isolates are often known to be slightly less costly than full spectrum products.

For instance, Cannabare offers a 1000mg Full-Spectrum Tincture at nearly $140, or $0.14 per milligram. cbdMD also offers a line of THC-free products, and their 1500mg CBD Oil Tincture Drops cost about $0.07 per milligram, for comparison.

Competition/Alternatives

We loved our experience with this tasteless, odorless CBD isolate oil and honestly see no reason it wouldn’t work for anyone looking for a THC-free dosing option. Still, multiple CBD isolate oils on the market could take their place, like Canna Comforts CBS Iso Oil 1000mg. For another tasteless, odorless, pure CBD isolate option, you could try Ambary Gardens CBD Isolate Powder, which is 99% pure CBD and can be easily stirred into food or drinks for discreet and easy dosing.

I would not say it’s a silver bullet. But CBD has definitely helped my ability to sleep. CBDistillery is the best place to buy.
