Smell (Irrelevant to effects)
The shot smells fruity and citrusy, reflective of the fruit punch flavor it advertises. Notes of strawberry, pineapple, and maraschino cherry sweeten up the tangy citrus notes of lemon and orange. There is a notable tartness to the finish, similar to Shock Tarts but a bit milder.
Taste (Irrelevant to effects)
The sweetness of the strawberry and pineapple flavors come first, followed by the tang of lemon and orange. There is a subtle bitterness to the aftertaste, but it isn’t pronounced and doesn’t last long. We didn’t find the flavor of the Max Chill Shot off-putting, but if you’re really averse to it, take solace in the fact that there isn’t much to swallow.
Consistency
The product is free-flowing and not at all viscous, preventing it from adhering to the soft tissues of the mouth and making for quick and easy swallowing. It is bright red in color, so be careful not to spill the product on clothing or upholstery as it may be difficult to remove.
Effects (Onset, Duration, Intensity)
Since it’s an oral product, the Max Chill CBD Shot will take a little while to kick in. We felt effects about 35-40 minutes after taking it, and when we did, we felt them. Since the shot contains 75 mg of CBD total, you can consume the whole bottle in one go or take half and save the rest for later. Either way, the effects will be pronounced and intense once you feel them.
We felt a marked, deep relaxation after taking this shot. Mentally, we were calmer and more at ease, with a general sense of well-being. Physically, we noticed that our tension melted away and our joint and muscle pain diminished, pretty much entirely. We felt the effect of this shot for about 8-10 hours. We were more relaxed and pain-free, and we experienced relief from anxiety and insomnia. When we slept, our sleep was deeper and we experienced fewer interruptions.
Best used for
Because of the high dosage of CBD in this product, it’s best used when you find yourself in need of serious symptom relief. We don’t recommend taking it during the day unless you routinely take very high doses of CBD, as it may make you drowsy. That said, it is ideal for anxiety and pain relief. It can also be used for an intense dose of anti-inflammatory CBD to combat joint pain associated with weather changes or injury. It would also be especially good for people suffering from intense anxiety, panic attacks, or insomnia.
However, we should make a note of possible contraindications: first, the high sugar content of the shot (nearly 10% of your daily value in the entire bottle) means it isn’t especially friendly to diabetics or those consumers seeking to monitor their carb intake. Second, the proprietary blend of L-Theanine, N-acetyl-5-methoxy tryptamine, GABA, Passiflora, and White Willow Bark may not be suitable for those who are pregnant or breastfeeding. Talk to your physician if you are breastfeeding, pregnant, or attempting to become pregnant before using the Max Chill Relaxation CBD Shot.
