NuLeaf Naturals’ CBG Oil is designed to offer a potent dose of CBG alongside other minor cannabinoids present in their unique full spectrum formula. Our NuLeaf shipment arrived quickly and well packaged, and we were happy to find that this CBG Oil is well labeled with all of the information we needed to test it out. Plus, a conveniently placed QR code led us right to the correct lab report, and we were happy to find that everything (quality and potency-wise) is in order for this formula.

The recommended dosage for this CBG Oil is 10 drops, or ½ mL, which is a bit off base from the usual 1 mL dose. We appreciate the smaller dosage size, which makes the product a bit more palatable. We started with a 10 drop dose, administered sublingually, in the morning. Here’s how it went:

Smell

This CBG Oil smells a little hempy and earthy, much like high-quality, natural hemp oil products should. 

Taste

The taste isn’t significantly potent, but there is a definite earthy undertone that shines through. All in all, there’s no chemical flavors or oddities that would lead us to believe the product was impure, and there was only a slight hemp aftertaste leftover after dosing.

Consistency

This CBG Oil is thin and palatable, goes down smoothly, and doesn’t leave any oily texture behind. 

Effects

We initially felt this CBG Oil take effect about an hour after dosing. The first sign was a looseness in our muscles and joints, which led us to believe that we were in for a significant amount of pain relief. As it turns out, that’s not the full story. 

We did feel a significant amount of relief from our chronic back pain (though not to the same extent that we feel with our usual CBD dose). What we didn’t expect was the adjustment to our mood and cognition that we felt throughout the day. We felt clear-headed, uplifted, and well-balanced, with no need to redose for over 6 hours. 

As suggested, we did take another dose in the evening and experienced similar effects. This tincture’s ability to provide clarity and mood support without preventing us from “winding down” in the afternoon is not something to overlook. Unlike many “mood supporting” supplements that we’ve tried, we think this would pair well with a nighttime supplement, like CBN or another sleep-supporting formula. 

Although the pain relief we experienced was not as potent as we needed, we definitely plan to experiment with a combined CBG and CBD dose to take the edge off entirely (and perhaps the NuLeaf Multicannabinoid formula will do the trick!).

The 900mg bottle of NuLeaf’s CBG Oil costs $79, which rounds out to about $0.09 per milligram. That’s around the low-end of the price point for high-quality, cannabinoid specific oils in today’s market. Given that the brand provides unmatched quality standards, we think the price point is respectable.
