Smell (Irrelevant to effects)
Ambary Gardens Fast Acting Therapeutic CBD Roll-On has a light and airy smell that is reminiscent of a botanical Vicks vapor rub. The fresh, almost minty smell is a direct result of its wholesome ingredients, like rosemary, wintergreen, frankincense, and clove. Although the smell is similar, it’s nowhere near as harsh as the burning menthol aroma common with similar drug store remedies. The scent fades after 15-20 minutes so you (unfortunately) won’t smell like a fresh herb garden all day.
The roll-on is very thin and not oily at all. The main ingredient (besides CBD) is aloe vera juice, which is probably the reason for its thin, water-like consistency. The oil goes on thin and doesn’t leak out of the rollerball unless in use. It does apply in a streaky pattern (due to the small surface area of the rollerball). After quickly rubbing it in to even it out, the skin is almost instantly dry again. However, the topical doesn’t seem to dry the skin out (as it contains no alcohol), nor does it leave any residue.
Effects (Onset, Duration, Intensity)
The product is described as a “therapeutic roll-on” which gives insight to its many potential uses. We had the chance to use the topical product for several different applications, but it seemed to have similar effects and the same level of efficacy each time. When applied to sore joints and muscles, the roll-on seemed to immediately provide some relief. Rolling the product over the neck and temple area also mildly relieve a tension headache. The roll-on seemed to immediately dull lower back pain.
The roll-on application was simple for sore, arthritic knees, and also provides some immediate reduction in pain levels. For applications over sore, arthritic joints, the roll-on seemed to increase range of motion by reducing stiffness and swelling. When the pain was moderate to severe, this roll-on was able to provide some relief and may be effective enough on its own for managing mild pain. The product needed to be reapplied every 2-3 hours depending on the severity of the discomfort. All in all, the product works well for relieving mild to moderate discomfort and may pair well with other products to manage more severe discomfort.
Best used for
This CBD roll-on is unique in providing such a broad range of potential uses. As a topical, CBD has been linked to anti-inflammatory effects and may have therapeutic value for treating psoriasis or eczema. Additionally, aloe vera has been researched as a topical product and has been shown to help moisturize extremely dry skin, as well as increase skin’s integrity. This product, however, seems to be mostly targeted at internal pains, like muscle soreness or joint inflammation, given its aromatic blend of essential oils, like clove, which has been proven to have analgesic effects. Additionally, topical CBD products may be useful for managing the same, as Cannabidiol has been linked to easing symptoms of arthritis and is generally linked to the reduction of inflammation and pain.
Best used with (Complimentary Product)
For mild soreness or moderate discomfort, Ambary Gardens Therapeutic Roll On may do the trick on its own. For combating more severe ailments, though, you could pair this topical with another fast-acting CBD product, like Ambary Gardens Full Spectrum Tincture. For severe pain, the tincture may act quickly to reduce the pain, and then the Therapeutic Roll-On can be applied as needed to manage residual discomfort throughout the day.
