Smell (Irrelevant to Effects)
Upon opening the bottle, the Binoid Water-Soluble CBD Wellness Drops (500mg) in the Peppermint flavor smell really refreshing and minty, like the sweet mint (sometimes also known as yerba buena) varieties more so than a true spicy peppermint. The smell isn’t overpowering, but its definitely pleasant and refreshingly apparent as soon as it’s exposed to air.
Taste (Irrelevant to Effects)
Judging by the sweet and relatively unassuming smell, we expected these to have a milder mint flavor. Instead, these drops yielded an immediate rush of strong, decidedly-sweetened peppermint. The flavor definitely isn’t bad, but it is definitely intense. One tester described her sublingual dose perfectly, saying, “it leaves your mouth feeling as if you just used green Listerine,” but without the burning sensation associated with alcohol.
This intensity was a bit much for many of our more sensitive testers, but it’s mediated well when added to a hot or cold beverage. It was especially pleasant added to warm black tea, as it added just the right touch of sweetness and mint to complement the beverage perfectly. We could also see it being used to create a peppermint mocha, matcha and green tea drinks, or even a refreshing mint julep.
Consistency
These drops are on the thin side, but not so runny that measuring is difficult or messy. The drops, which are a milky white, mix completely and effortlessly into beverages (we tried hot and cold), rather than floating on top like traditional oily tinctures. When taken sublingually, they feel pretty light and don’t leave behind any oily residue or filmy feeling on the mouth, just a rush of sweet peppermint flavor.
Effects
We used these Peppermint CBD Wellness Drops from Binoid first thing in the morning before a busy day. One dropper full (16.6mg) mixed into tea replaced our usual CBD dose of 20 mg, which we use to combat anxiety and reduce our stress response throughout the day.
It took about 20 minutes to finish the beverage we made, and another 45 or so before we began to feel the slow onset of effects. An increasing ability to focus and a sense of calm soon overtook what was before a pretty shaky morning. Two hours after our dose, it was very apparent that the CBD was keeping anxiety at bay and the mental clarity and focus provided seemed to be at its peak.
These drops made for a smooth, easy transition into the afternoon, with no need for our “take-when-needed” dose of anxiety medication. After about 5 hours, however, we could tell the effects were starting to taper away, feeling the grip of anxiety tightening around us while writing an afternoon to-do list. A second dose, sublingually this time, helped release this feeling pretty quickly. We may have been too busy to notice the onset, but noted at 1.5 hours after dosing that the calm, steady focus had returned to help us through the entire afternoon.
Ultimately, this product worked well for us against anxiety and panic, offering effects comparable to our usual dose. That said, those effects were of a (slightly) shorter duration, though they also seemed to take effect a bit more quickly than traditional tinctures, especially when taken sublingually.
Best Used For
These CBD Wellness Drops from Binoid offer all the benefits of CBD, and make a great choice for anyone who isn’t a fan of the direct dosing style of sublingual tinctures and would prefer to mix their dose into their favorite drink. According to existing research, CBD may be useful for a range of conditions, including Crohn’s Disease, PTSD, arthritis, insomnia, and even cancer, though the most popular uses are for anxiety, pain, and inflammation. Because it interacts with the body’s endocannabinoid system on a cellular level, many people find that it helps with multiple symptoms simultaneously.
