Smell (Irrelevant to effects)
Sumptuous and earthy, the kief smells subtly spicy, with an almost peppery quality that provoked a sneeze from us. There’s also a richness, similar to a pine nut and basil pesto, that combines the verdant scent of the terpene profile with something headier that melds the different flavors together and brings them to life.
Taste (Irrelevant to effects)
When smoked, the kief adds a spicy, subtly herbal flavor to your preferred smoke. It brings an added punch of CBD to traditional cannabis or organic hemp flower in bowls, joints, blunts, and dry herb vapes. We like to consume it with its corresponding hemp flower strain, Elektra, but it adds a flavorful and therapeutic element to just about any smokable product you care to add it to.
Consistency
The kief is powdery (duh) and clumps together into blobs of pollen. This makes it easy to grab a clump or two (or break off a part of a larger piece) to add to your bowl or roll without losing product in transit. It packs exceedingly well, creating a smooth-burning layer to your bowl.
The kief is a dusty khaki green in color and easy to work with. The “clumps” have a fuzzy appearance and blend easily into any smokable product. However you choose to use it, it adds a powerful dose of CBD to whatever herb you choose to smoke or vape.
Effects (Onset, Duration, Intensity)
Since this is an inhaled product, it takes effect quickly: we felt relief from pain and anxiety within minutes of our first puff. After about 30 minutes, the effects reached a peak — we felt relaxed, at ease, and experienced a general sense of wellbeing. We like to add a layer to our glass bowls, but it would also work well in a joint or a blunt. Kief vaporizes very well (pack it down carefully to avoid flyaway pollen) and would make a good addition to your dry herb vape bowls.
We experienced the effects for about four hours after smoking, which is comparable to other inhaled forms of CBD. The intensity of the effects depends on how much or how little you use: take more to alleviate severe symptoms and less when you’re looking for a subtle boost of analgesic and anxiolytic properties. As the kief is 21% CBD, it provides a potent dose of CBD and a little goes a long way.
Best used for
As long as you don’t have a condition that prevents you from smoking or vaping CBD, we feel this product has great potential to help a variety of types and severity levels of symptoms. The kief’s high CBD level, complete terpene profile, and versatility make it ideal for a wide variety of consumers.
We like this product especially for pain and anxiety relief, but it would also work well to alleviate chronic inflammation, depression, tension, and other ailments. Since it’s fast-acting, it would be perfect to relieve sudden, severe symptoms. It can also be used to add a supplementary dose of CBD to your daily regimen as you go about your daily activities.
