Vital Body Therapeutics Restore CBD + Turmeric CBD Oil is a potent herbal hemp formula targeting ailments that disrupt sleep. Here’s how it went:

Smell

We expected this CBD oil tincture to be one with a more pungent herbal scent, but it turned out to be relatively mild. The scent is slightly herbal, but we had to virtually press our nose to the open bottle to smell it. 

Taste

We have to commend the brand on the way they worked out the flavor for this tincture. Let’s just say that turmeric is NOT our favorite flavor, so we weren’t enthusiastic about tasting this tincture at all. But the flavor is not awful. In fact, it’s very palatable, lightly sweet, with only a mild turmeric aftertaste. If you’re someone who doesn’t mind the flavor of turmeric, you might even say it tastes good. 

Consistency

This CBD Oil tincture is very viscous and transparent with a slight golden hue. It’s not thick, doesn’t linger in the mouth, and isn’t hard to precisely measure with the dropper lid—all things we love in a CBD oil. 

Effects

We took a dose of this CBD oil about an hour before bed, fully expecting it to take about an hour to kick in. We were almost on target, but we did feel the relaxing effects creep on a bit sooner, at about the 45-minute mark. 

Overall, the tincture isn’t nearly sedating enough to just plainly call it a “sleep tincture,” but we think it does what it’s intended to do. We felt soothed, both in body and mind. It was particularly easy to get comfortable in bed, an experience that’s often replaced by tossing and turning until we can find a position that takes the edge off of lower back pain. 

Ultimately, we slept well and felt fully refreshed in the morning, so we understand why this tincture is named “Restore.” We’d say that it’s a perfect sleep solution for situations where inflammation is the sleep-disruption culprit. Suppose you experience insomnia due to other causes. In that case, it may still pose some benefits for relaxing you before bed, but don’t expect any knock-out effects (no melatonin or sleep aids here!).

It poses a gentle dosing option that can help round out a CBD regimen to target pain, inflammation, stress, and more. After all, a good night’s sleep is the first step to daytime relief.
